FLEX COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

As you all know the state of California has implemented a Mandatory Restriction on the entire state of California. As usual with such a blanket requirement there are a lot of interpretations of exactly what people should do.  Who should go to work and who should stay home?  Therefore, we will use our best judgement from the information we have below.

The mandatory order allows Californians to continue to visit gas stations, pharmacies, grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, take-out and delivery restaurants, banks and laundromats. People can leave their homes to care for a relative or a friend or seek health care services.

We have implemented additional cleaning within our work areas, especially for frequently touched surfaces, such as workstations, countertops, forklifts, doorknobs, keyboards, with appropriate and recommended cleaning agents.  We are following the recommendations by the CDC and other applicable agencies, and we will enforce our employees to (a) stay home when they are sick, (b) follow proper cough and sneeze etiquette, (c) practice social distancing at all times and (d) maintain hand hygiene at all times.

Our employees are dedicated and want to work.  We have implemented additional full-time people for continuous cleaning and have stepped up various protective measures.  Sanitize gels are the biggest request from our employees; we have purchased 15 hand sanitizer stations for our three facilities.  Every warehouse employee is wearing latex gloves while working in the facilities. We have also limited access of outside drivers in our facilities while we are working under these controlled times.

We are continuously reminding one another about “Social Distancing” in the workplace and while away from work.  Our priority is making sure we do everything we can to adhere to the Mandatory Restrictions and to promote safety for all our people.

Remember:  6 Feet Essential Worker

SOCIAL DISTANCING AND ESSENTIAL WORKERS AT FLEX LOGISTICS

Essential Workers are more at risk to Covid-19, and as they do their job by engaging as a team, we now tell them to keep 6 feet apart. We found that people forget about social distance, not on purpose but because they’re focusing on the work. To help remind them we came up with the “Essential Worker” hat and invented the soft “please keep 6 feet away” sign to remind everyone what everyone needs to do to stop the spread. When people start coming too close, they either see the hat or we use the soft stop sign, putting up one hand to stop and pointing to our hat with the other hand. We also encourage our team to wear the hat if they need to go for provision while we’re on the stay at home order. It lets people know that we are an Essential Worker therefore we are more at risk to getting the virus. When they see the hat they definitely back up. Other Essential Workers are now asking where we got the hats. We feel these hats will go a long way helping with social distancing. I would suggest the Medical, First Responders and all that are on the frontline of this war against the virus wear a “Critical Worker” hat. A word about the logo on the side of the hat. This is the Flex business logo and it represents the supply chain. The two broken circles represent a broken supply chain, the complete circle in the centers represents the continuous balance of a great supply chain, that is Flex’s focus. During this time, I now look at the logo this way. The two broken circles being our broken economy and how out-of-balance it is. The middle circle is where we, as a country need to get back to.
